When the Chicago Bears traded for former Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles this offseason, there was much discussion over whether he would take over the starting role from Mitchell Trubisky. We now know that there will be a full-on quarterback battle going on in Chicago during training camp and preseason, with Matt Nagy revealing that both QBs will get playing time in preseason games.

This will provide Bears fans with some great entertainment, as they watch the QB battle unfold in preseason games.

Last year, Trubisky was anything but convincing in his attempt to prove he's Chicago's QB of the future, throwing 10 interceptions and only 17 touchdowns in 15 games. Ultimately, this has been the story of Trubisky's entire NFL career in Chicago. This offseason, the Bears decided to deny his fifth year option. The extended mediocrity also led the Bears to make the trade for Foles, giving up a fourth-round pick for the veteran.

Foles, however, wasn't much better. In only four games, he threw three touchdowns, two interceptions and totaled 736 yards, ultimately losing the job down the stretch to Gardner Minshew.

Bears fans are hoping Foles can find that magic that helped him lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl in 2018. When it matters, Foles has been someone you can count on in recent years.

The Bears have all the tools they need to be a top contender in the NFC. With one of the league's best defenses and some great weapons on offense, if the Bears can get consistency out of the quarterback position, they could easily find themselves in position to make a playoff run.
