VIDEO: Bears Fans Burn Mitchell Trubisky Jersey After Nick Foles Trade

Some Chicago Bears fans have turned on Mitchell Trubisky after three underwhelming seasons as quarterback. The former No. 2 overall pick has not lived up to the hype created by GM Ryan Pace, so Pace decided to trade for Nick Foles and create some competition at quarterback. Some have already accepted Foles will win the job and expressed that belief by burning a Trubisky jersey.

Burning a jersey is always a weird act. Is it just for Internet clout? That may make some sense. But still, burning something you spent $100 on is a bit of a self-own. At least donate it or just save it as a memento.
Bears GM Ryan Pace says Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles are “embracing” the QB battle that will play out whenever off-season workouts begin.

Who starts Week 1 for the Bears next season: Trubisky or Foles? https://t.co/K0HStEG4w8
There is still the possibility Trubisky turns things around and becomes the player the Bears always expected him to be. That could lead to the fan who burned the Trubisky jersey to make an apology video in the future.
Internet fame only lasts so long.
