Don't expect the peaceful protests among NFL players to stop anytime soon.

Super Bowl champion and Bears free agent signing Jordan Lucas is the first Chicago player to say that he will kneel during the National Anthem next season. More players will likely echo Lucas' statement, especially since this is coming from a newcomer and not one of the team leaders.

Lucas will be competing with Tashaun Gipson, Deon Bush, DeAndre Houston-Carson, Sherrick McManis and Kentrell Brice for the second starting safety spot alongside Eddie Jackson, but he'll look to make an impact in terms of influencing social justice as well.

In Lucas' rookie season, he remembers being "scared" to kneel because he didn't want to lose his spot on the team, but now that the NFL has come out and supported the peaceful protesting, players will no longer have to be concerned about that.

Lucas thinks that more people are starting to understand that the NFL protests have nothing to do with disrespecting the flag or the military.

One can hope more and more players deciding to take a stand will spur change regarding the countless issues society is suffering from at the moment.
