The Bears Need to Officially Move on From Mitchell Trubisky After the Season
At this point, it's clear Matt Nagy has a tough, yet simple decision to make at the end of the season. Bears fans know what I'm talking about there.
The Mitchell Trubisky experiment? It must come to an end. It simply must.
Sunday night very well could have been the final straw for the Chicago faithful, as the Bears suffered a disheartening 17-7 loss to the Rams. The defense got the job done, but once again, No. 10 couldn't power the offense into any kind of rhythm.
As we all saw during Sunday Night Football, Trubisky was benched at one point in favor of Chase Daniel. While Nagy said it was due to a 'hip issue' for his QB1, fans celebrated when Trubisky left the field. He looked that terrible, finishing the night 24-of-43 for 190 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Time and time again, it feels like the Bears are wasting the dominant play of their defense. To make matters worse, both Deshaun Watson and Lamar Jackson, who the Bears could have picked, but took Trubisky instead, continue to have sensational campaigns.
The numbers do not lie here. For Chicago, it's time to start planning for the future. Trubisky is absolutely not the right answer for this team and its offense. Go get Cam Newton, Gardner Minshew or someone who can make plays in crunch time.
We've consistently seen Trubisky is not the man for that job.
