Bears Expected to Place OL Kyle Long on IR With Hip Injury
By Michael Luciano

The once-stout offensive line of the Chicago Bears has been starting to show some cracks early in this season, and now it appears the dam is going to break wide open.
Starting right guard Kyle Long is expected to hit the IR due to an nagging hip injury.
Another hit to the #Bears front line: They placed DT Akiem Hicks (elbow) on Injured Reserve. He had been soliciting opinions for the last two weeks.

The son of Hall of Famer Howie Long and the brother of former Rams and Eagles pass rusher Chris Long, Kyle has had a tough time overcoming the injury bug, as 2015 was the last time he was able to play all 16 games in a season. He has played in more than eight games just once since 2015, and his Bears future is becoming cloudier with each IR visit.
Alex Bars will likely be promoted from the practice squad following Long's designation, while veteran Ted Larsen or Rashaad Coward are also candidates to replace the injured Long.
Matt Nagy hinted the change was coming. Per NFL Network, the #Bears are likely to put Kyle Long on IR.https://t.co/8uKYi8LnWV

With Long's season in jeopardy, the Bears will be hoping their next man up is able to cover the hole left in his Long's stead.
