Bears QB Depth Chart After Nick Foles Trade
By Scott Rogust

The Chicago Bears had a desperate need for a quarterback change after former 2017 first round pick Mitchell Trubisky flopped to embarrassing levels in his first three seasons. On Wednesday, the start of the new NFL league year, the Bears made a trade for Jacksonville Jaguars signal caller Nick Foles, in exchange for a fourth round pick.
So, how does the presence of Foles, Super Bowl LII MVP, impact the Bears quarterback depth chart? Well, here's a look at how it pans out for 2020.

Bears’ coaches such as Matt Nagy have worked with Foles in past and know him well.

QB2: Mitchell Trubisky
Yup, that's it. As of this writing, Chicago's quarterback room is looking pretty shallow. Chase Daniel, who has long served as the Bears' clipboard holder, is headed to the rival Lions, meaning only Foles and Trubisky remain on the roster at QB.
Bears HC Matt Nagy was the Eagles' offensive control coach when Foles was a rookie back in 2012 and also worked alongside the QB in Kansas City in 2016. Nagy saw firsthand what Foles can bring to an offense, and he's hoping the recently acquired gunslinger can produce some of that magic in the Windy City.
This can't be overstated: coronavirus means there's a real chance NFL teams can't gather for offseason practices AT ALL.

Nick Foles knows Matt Nagy's scheme. He's worked Bill Lazor, John DeFilippo.

As for Trubisky, there was a sliver of hope during Nagy's first year as head coach in 2018. Trubisky looked to be a quality starting quarterback, even earning a Pro Bowl bid, but took major steps backwards in 2019 and fell out of favor with the fan base.
