Hats off to Chicago Bears GM Ryan Pace. Free agency hasn't even started yet, and he's already signing guys to contracts.

Chicago signed former Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns tight end Demetrius Harris, who agreed to a one-year deal with the Bears to add depth in their tight end room.

Harris was a power forward for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, which has no football program. He made the Chiefs practice squad in 2013 after John Dorsey found this diamond in the rough, while Matt Nagy started to work him into the offense more when he became offensive coordinator.

Harris recorded 57 catches, 605 yards, and six touchdowns in five seasons as a Chief before signing with the Browns, who were at the time being overseen by Dorsey. He had 15 catches, 149 yards, and three touchdowns last year in Cleveland, most of which came in the red zone.

Harris might drive you crazy with some of his drops, but there aren't many guys his size with the verticality and speed he has. Nagy will have no trouble finding a role for him.
