Bears Twitter Accidentally Scheduled a Pregame Tweet for 11:50 PM After They Had Already Lost
By Jerry Trotta
In the aftermath of gut-wrenching losses, the Twitter accounts of professional sports organizations need to be ever-mindful that they don't do anything to further exasperate their fans.
Apparently, that elementary understanding doesn't resonate with the Bears, as their account posted a pre-game promo of their tilt with the Packers at...wait for it...11:50 p.m.
This was clearly a schedule tweet, and the maestro behind it accidentally selected PM instead of AM on Sunday morning.
Oh no.
Because of the 1 p.m. start time, Bears buffs were probably just starting to get over the fact that they could've completed a last-second lateral miracle had Jesper Horsted merely opened his eyes and pitched the pigskin to a WIDE open Allen Robinson.
That's a tough L to swallow, and thanks to Chicago's careless social media gaffe, fans were promptly reminded of it right before bed or as soon as they opened their Twitter apps this morning.
Unfortunately for Bears fans, it has just been that kind of a season.
