Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons teased NBA fans around the world by making a three-pointer during the preseason. After all the jokes and memes sent his way throughout his short career, Simmons finally silenced the critics on Wednesday night by making his first-ever regular season three-pointer at the expense of the New York Knicks this week.

After sinking the all-important trey, Simmons was rewarded by the NBA 2K team. They increased his three-point shot rating to 47 -- a 12 point increase! -- in 2K20.

So, if we were to do the math, each three pointer Simmons makes from here on out will result in a 12-point boost, huh? If Ben continues to make shots behind the arc, he will reach a fat 99 by seasons end, which would be the most ridiculous rise up video game rankings in recent memory.

Heh.

All jokes aside, the 76ers star worked on improving his jump shot this past summer amidst constant scrutiny over his hesitancy to pull the trigger from long range.

Now, Simmons is 1-for-18 from three point land on the season, which is better than his previous 0-for-17 last campaign.

For 2K players around the world, you can officially begin shooting threes with Ben Simmons on your video game consoles! He won't get better without practice, so do your part.
