Bengals Adding Tee Higgins to Suddenly Loaded Receiving Corps Should Make Joe Burrow Blush
By Mark Powell
Remember, the Bengals were 2-14 last season. Yet, suddenly, their receiving corps is as productive on paper as just about any other team in the AFC North.
Cincinnati already paired No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow with AJ Green, who is coming back from injury, and former Pitt Panther Tyler Boyd, who has two 1,000-yard seasons to his name.
Now adding Clemson's Tee Higgins to that mix, Burrow has gotta be happy about his targets heading into Year 1.
Higgins' height and ability to win one-on-one battles makes him an attractive red zone target, as ACC teams found out on the regular in 2019. This isn't a bad scenario for Higgins, either, who goes from catching passes from Trevor Lawrence to working with 2019's record-setting Heisman Trophy winner.
Zac Taylor has plenty of holes to fill to transform this squad from worst team in the NFL in 2019 to legitimate contenders despite the optimism that Burrow provides. But with the addition of Higgins, the Bengals are sending a clear message to the rest of the AFC North: You can't cover us, period.
