Bengals Claiming They Haven't Decided What to Do With No. 1 Overall Pick is Pretty Cute
By Sean Facey
The Cincinnati Bengals hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and one of the top prospects, if not the top prospect, there for the taking is LSU star Joe Burrow.
However, in an effort to try and keep some semblance of leverage, Bengals coach Zac Taylor tried to convince us all that the team still has 'a long way to go' before they decide on how they want to use the pick.
Ah, right.
Everybody and their mother knows that the pick is going to be used on Burrow. It makes too much sense for that not to be the case. Burrow just put up one of the best single-season performances by a college quarterback ever, and the Bengals are in desperate need of a new gunslinger.
It doesn't take that much of a genius to put two and two together in this situation.
It's understandable the Bengals are at least trying to sell the rest of the NFL that they're still open for business with the top pick, but no one is buying it. If Burrow for some reason doesn't go No. 1, Cincy fans will never let them hear the end of it.
