Bill O'Brien Can Truly Save Disastrous Offseason by Pulling off Deshaun Watson Extension

Who would've thought that the Texans could anger Deshaun Watson and sign him to an extension in the same offseason?

Bill O'Brien deserves a startling amount of credit for turning around a tough situation, in which he traded away one of the best receivers in the NFL in DeAndre Hopkins for well below market value.

On Friday, the Texans inked Laremy Tunsil to a massive extension, and are now aiming to do the same with Watson by the time the offseason is through.

Tunsil's deal showed Watson that despite the trade of Hopkins, the Texans really do have the Clemson product's best interests at heart. O'Brien's image for the future of the Houston franchise is just far different than anything us fans or pundits could ever imagine.

One look at the Texans' offense shows some promise, albeit less than what it could have been with Hopkins still on the roster.

Yet, to be fair, Hopkins wanted his own lucrative contract which could've hindered the looming extensions of Tunsil and Watson. O'Brien is part of the growing movement in the NFL which values QB play and a stout offensive line over the outside skill positions.

If O'Brien can pull this off, Texans fans may just be able to forgive and forget.
