Bill O'Brien's Latest Comments Should Be Music to Steelers Fans' Ears Ahead of Week 17
By Ian Anderson
Week 17 of the NFL season is here, and teams that have everything practically locked up heading into January are beginning to rest their players.
Except for the Houston Texans, that is.
Texans head coach Bill O'Brien told reporters Monday morning that they have no plans to rest their players against the Tennessee Titans this Sunday, despite having the No. 4 seed in the AFC practically locked up, and Pittsburgh Steelers fans are rejoicing.
O'Brien is making a bold move here. If the Texans were to win against the Titans and the Kansas City Chiefs were to lose to the Chargers, then Houston would claim the No. 3 seed in the AFC.
Currently sitting at the 7th seed in the AFC, the Pittsburgh Steelers need a Texans victory against the Titans desperately, combined with a victory of their own against the Ravens, in order to reach the postseason for the fifth time in the past six seasons.
With the Ravens sitting most of their starters and the Texans playing all of theirs, the Pittsburgh Steelers making the playoffs is not as far-fetched as initially believed as their loss to the Jets wrapped Sunday.
