Bill O'Brien Trying to Trade Into First-Round is Perfect Cap to Failed DeAndre Hopkins Move
By Mark Powell

Bill O'Brien just loves to barter, even when it comes back to bite him.
The Houston Texans coach infamously failed to get full value for one of the best wideouts in the game in DeAndre Hopkins, who was dished to Arizona for an injury-prone running back and a bevy of draft capital that did not include a first-round pick.
Yes, Hopkins wants a new contract, but when Stefon Diggs can fetch more, something went wrong. Now, O'Brien is doing everything in his power to work his way into the first round. Unfortunately, he's already dealt one of his greatest assets.
I’d file this in the category as “right on brand”, I’m told the Texans have called some teams to trade up into the first round. Bill O’Brien never scared to make a trade. #Texans

Houston, prepare for launch.
It's going to be an interesting night for Texans fans. Whether that action is productive or further annihilates any chance they have at keeping Deshaun Watson past his current contract remains to be seen.

The subsequent moves Houston has made since dealing Hopkins haven't all been bad, and O'Brien's ability as a general manager can (sometimes) be decent. Yet, an overwhelming number of his decisions leave Texans fans dumbfounded, and the rest of the NFL laughing.
Maybe he should just sit this one out.
