Bills' Tyrel Dodson Gets Handed 6-Game Suspension for Domestic Abuse
By Parker White
On Thursday, the NFL levied a six-game suspension to Buffalo Bills rookie linebacker Tyrel Dodson for violating the league's personal conduct policy.
Dodson was arrested at a nightclub back in late May for domestic violence, stemming from an altercation with his girlfriend.
Dodson's girlfriend accused him of hitting her across the face, as well as stealing her keys and money, which she told the 9-1-1 operator totaled over $10,000 from a safe.
According to the Associated Press, Dodson has come to an agreement with prosecutors to "defer a domestic violence charge of disorderly conduct-disruptive behavior-fighting."
As a result of his agreement with prosecutors, assault and property damage charges were dropped. Dodson has a restitution hearing scheduled for November, as well as a sentencing hearing set up for September 2020.
You would think that a suspension of this magnitude would force the hand of the Bills organization, especially since we are talking about an undrafted rookie, but there are no current plans of punishment by the team, as they held their own investigation and found "no credible evidence" that domestic violence occurred.
