They Still Haven't Caught the Black Cat That Invaded Monday Night Football
By Scott Rogust
The famous black cat that took the field in the Week 9 edition of Monday Night Football between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium is still on the loose!
MetLife Stadium's official Twitter account announced that they've yet to catch the feline field invader days after its cameo appearance under the lights.
Stadium employees set up various humane traps on Tuesday morning to help corral the kitty, but have yet to find it. MetLife Stadium later shut down reports alleging that nearly 300 cats occupy the space beneath the bleachers; however, they did say the adjacent Meadowlands Racetrack has a trap, neuter, release (TNR) program that feeds nearly 30 barn cats regularly.
The superstitious individuals note that whenever you see a black cat, bad luck usually follows. In Monday night's game, the Giants held a 9-3 lead over the Cowboys. After the cat ran onto the field and delayed the game, Dallas outscored New York 34-9.
MetLife Stadium is trying their hardest to catch the black cat in a humane manner, but it's proving to be more elusive than anyone thought. That's right in line with its performance on the field.
You can almost guarantee that the black cat reemerges during Sunday's "Stupor Bowl" between the Giants and Jets for comedic purposes. It's just too perfect.
