Blake Jarwin is getting a second opportunity to replace Jason Witten in the Dallas Cowboys offense. The first shot came back in 2018 when Witten retired to embark on a broadcasting career. Jarwin did appear in all 16 games that year, but only had 27 receptions for 307 yards and three touchdowns.

Witten returned last season and Jarwin was once again in a secondary role. He now gets a shot to be a focal point in the Dallas offense as Witten is gone again and likely for good after signing a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. The fourth-year tight end recently did an interview where he talked about filling Witten's shoes with the Cowboys.

"You've got to look at it like it's just the beginning," Jarwin said in the interview with ESPN's Todd Archer. "I've still got a lot to prove. That's another thing I learned from seeing a guy go to work every single day. He's a 15-to-16-year vet, but he's still trying to make the team like he's a rookie. I'm going to hold on to that mindset. I was an undrafted free agent. That's going to prevent me from ever being content."

Jarwin also spoke about how Witten helped him and the other young tight ends on the roster. The veteran's work ethic and ability to teach has set up Jarwin for success as the top guy at the position in 2020. He is nowhere near Witten's level of play or stardom in Dallas, but he can begin that climb in 2020 after learning from one of the best tight end's in the game.
