Blazers PF Zach Collins Will Undergo Surgery on Dislocated Left Shoulder
By Karl Rasmussen
The Portland Trail Blazers were already missing a key member of their frontcourt in Jusuf Nurkic, and now they'll be down another big man.
According to reports, Blazers forward Zach Collins is going under the knife to get surgery on his dislocated left shoulder.
Collins suffered the injury during a win against the Dallas Mavericks, and has only appeared in three games this season as a result.
It's currently unknown how long Collins will be sidelined as the timeline will be established after the operation, but it's likely he will miss a significant chunk of the season, if not the whole campaign.
Last season, Collins featured in 77 games off the bench, logging 17.6 minutes per night and averaging 6.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game. He was given more run prior to his injury this season and had averaged 9 points, and 4 rebounds across 28.7 minutes per game.
The loss of the 21-year-old is a big blow for the Blazers, who will perhaps explore free agency to look to replace their young forward for the time being.
