Bleacher Report Claims Random Man is Dirk Nowitzki Trolling Over Luka Doncic ROY Win

Apparently it's easy to mistake people for NBA superstars on social media these days.

Bleacher Report claimed that a random man on Instagram was Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki trolling haters following Luka Doncic's Rookie of the Year win, which would've been a fun thing...if it had happened.

It's no secret that Dirk's a proud supporter of his former teammate Luka Doncic, but it would have definitely been wise for B/R to double check who exactly made the post.

Besides, Nowitzki is class personified. Even with his teammate taking home such a high honor, it seems unlikely that he'd take to social media to talk trash.

The account instead turned out to belong to an entrepreneur who by all accounts seems to be a Doncic fan and a Trae Young detractor.

The handle of the account, @goswish, bears a slight resemblance to Nowitzki's Instagram tag, @swish41. However, beyond the word "swish," the similarities end, making it that much more hilarious that the two got confused.

The blue verification check mark that accompanied both accounts probably didn't help alleviate any possible confusion, though.

Let this be a lesson to always double-check things before you move forward with a post.
