Blue Jays Ace Marcus Stroman Likes Tweet About Potential Trade to Yankees or Twins
By Sean Facey
Marcus Stroman is stoking the fire surround his own trade rumors.
The Blue Jays ace liked a tweet referencing possible trade scenarios that would land him with top contenders such as the Yankees or Twins.
The Yankees have been linked to Stroman for a good amount of time now, and the Twins are dire need of some starting rotation help. At the moment, Stroman could be the most affordable top-of-the-line starters out there.
He's maintained that he's not bothered by any of the rumors that he's on the block, which was evident in his comments about playing on the big stage in New York. Between that and him liking this tweet about being the future ace with the Yanks or Twins should pretty much seal the deal.
Stroman, who was selected to his first career All-Star Game this year, is one of the premier starting pitching targets of the trade deadline. He's posted a 3.18 ERA this season as one of the few reliable pitchers on an otherwise dismal Blue Jays squad.
He's one of the few pitchers in the league who's really managed to keep the ball in the park this year, posting a career-low 11.8% HR/FB rate. Stroman also has another year of control left on his contract, making him more than a rental piece.
He pitches with heart and has been successful against some of the league's toughest batters. He'd make a great addition to a contending starting rotation. Where will he land?
