Blue Jays Twitter Has Epic Callout for Falcons After Claiming Old Joke Was Stolen
By Michael Luciano
The Atlanta Falcons won Twitter for about 10 minutes when they comically told off a fan who wondered why underperforming pass rusher Vic Beasley wasn't going to be re-signed. The Falcons announced that news, the fan asked what the source was, and the Falcons' Twitter account did its thing.
But it took Twitter detectives all of 15 minutes to expose the Falcons as fraudulent, as the Toronto Blue Jays made the exact same joke several months ago when Justin Smoak was ruled out due to an injury. The Falcons literally stole the Blue Jays' bit verbatim, and they had to face the consequences.
Ouch. Victories have been hard to come by for the Blue Jays in recent years, but the is one is firmly in the win column.
The Blue Jays even took on fans who bizarrely liked the Falcons post more than the Blue Jays' original one.
It was a quick five minutes of fame for the social media director in Atlanta, but the person has now been exposed. Joke stealing is NOT cool, just ask every comedian on the internet!
