Blue Jays Hint at New Powder Blue Jersey Reveal
By Jackson Thompson

Get ready for some new gear, Jays fans?
Laura Armstrong, Blue Jays beat writer for the Toronto Star, tweeted a photo on Monday of a care package sent out by the organization. The photo shows a baseball with a powder blue-colored inscription, which plainly indicates "new threads" are coming for a new era.
Based on the package that just came in my mail, all you #BlueJays fans should keep your eyes peeled for some new #NewBlue threads. #comingsoon ? pic.twitter.com/YsUS8m2g0U

The Blue Jays last modified their uniforms in 2012, and the seven years since then is the longest stretch the organization has gone without a uniform change since the original uniforms were introduced in 1977. Those uniforms went a full 11 seasons without a rebrand until 1989.
The Blue Jays then modified their uniforms in some capacity in 1993, 1997, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2009, and finally in 2012, where they introduced the threads that have stuck with the organization throughout the rest of the decade.

Now, it seems the Blue Jays may look to open the decade of the 2020s with a throwback to the decade of the 1990s. The powder blue font color on the baseball indicates a possible resurrection of the powder blue uniforms that the franchise donned in its most recent World Series championship seasons in 1992 and 1993.
If the powder blue font color is foreshadowing the return of the team's powder blue uniforms, then the organization is likely introducing a fourth alternate uniform, as opposed to a full rebrand.
The most recent rebrand in 2012 introduced three uniform styles -- the home all white, the road all gray and the alternate blue tops with white pants. If the organization is introducing throwback powder blue uniforms, they'll be joining teams like the Rangers and Twins who've done the same this offseason.
