After a long, grueling wait, a top MLB prospect is finally getting called up to the show.

The Toronto Blue Jays are calling up No. 1 prospect Bo Bichette for the start of their series against the Kansas City Royals, per Shi Davidi of Sportsnet. The move comes after the team traded infielder Eric Sogard to the Tampa Bay Rays.

Bichette was informed during the third inning of Triple-A Buffalo's game on Sunday, and was subsequently pulled.

Just over a week ago, Bichette expressed his frustration about not receiving an MLB promotion. The No. 8 ranked prospect in the league stressed that he succeeded at everything that was asked of him, and yet, he still remained in the minors.

While playing with Advanced-A Dunedin and Triple-A Buffalo, Bichette posted a .290 batting average, .358 on-base percentage, and .489 slugging percentage, along with eight home runs and 33 RBI.

The hard work ultimately paid off for Bichette, as he's set to make his major league debut with the Toronto Blue Jays at some point this week.
