MLB free agency is really starting to heat up. Now that some of the bigger names are off the market well ahead of schedule, teams are beginning to look for value in underrated players.

In the interest in filling out the roster with an upside play, Jon Morosi of MLB Network has reported that the Toronto Blue Jays, Cincinnati Reds, and Milwaukee Brewers have all expressed interest in free agent outfielder Kole Calhoun, as well as the longshot Marlins.
.

Calhoun had spent his entire career with the Los Angeles Angels since being drafted by them in 2010.

The 32-year-old is a strong outfielder, and he hit a power peak in 2019 before being jettisoned by the Angels.

The 2015 Gold Glove winner is coming off one of his best offensive seasons, so he could be poised for another increase in production at the plate. By any metric, his 33 home runs a season ago and impressive WAR are nothing to sneeze at.

A bidding war over Calhoun likely won't take place, but he shouldn't have too much trouble finding a home and role on a team that he is comfortable with. This is some of the first free agency news related to Calhoun to surface, so other ball clubs could still throw their hat into the ring as well.
