Blue Jays Remove Vladimir Guerrero Jr From Saturday's Game with Left Knee Issue
By Parker White
You hope this was a precautionary decision.
On Saturday, the Toronto Blue Jays removed star rookie Vladimir Guerrero Jr. from the game with left knee discomfort. He'll continue to undergo further evaluation.
Brandon Drury entered the game in the top of third inning to replace Guerrero Jr.
Guerrero made a diving grab on a ground ball at third base in the top of the second inning. However, it's unclear if that's what caused the knee discomfort and exit from the game. Hopefully for Toronto and all baseball fans, this isn't serious and he won't miss much time moving forward.
The 20-year-old infielder has put together a nice rookie campaign, slashing .275/.345/.465 with 14 home runs and 54 RBI. Vladdy Jr. has been even hotter at the dish in August, slashing .345/.390/.655 with three home runs and 11 RBI.
