San Jose has certainly found their game lately, assisted by a little bit of luck from the hockey gods so far in the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoff campaign. With a very evenly matched opponent in the Blues, the Sharks have elevated their play in all three zones of the ice.
Defensively, they have tightened up their own zone and Martin Jones has been on the top of his game. The Sharks have also elevated their game in transition both on the attack and defense, finding new ways to breakout of their zone and limit the Blues chances on the rush. They will need to bounce back from a close Game 4 loss and take the 3-2 series lead heading back to St. Louis.

St. Louis has carried their winning ways of 2019 into the playoffs, and have shown that they are one of the four best teams in the NHL and fully deserving of being in the Western Conference Finals. Since January 1st, the Blues have been the best team in the NHL, beating out teams such as the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Carolina Hurricanes for most points in the new calendar year.
They are led by rookie goaltender Jordan Binnington, who has been one of, if not the best goalie in the league since the beginning of the year, and he' carried his outstanding play into the postseason. The Blues will need Binnington's continued game-changing play in order to get past an experienced Sharks team.
