Bo Bichette is Completely Right and Blue Jays Need to Call Him up
By Brendan Azoff

Bo Bichette was drafted in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft, and since has been one of the top prospects in the emerging Toronto Blue Jays organization, if not all of baseball. His on-field ability is only topped by his magnificent hair, and when he was asked Tuesday about the fact that he had not yet been called up to the big leagues, he did not hold back with his response.

You said it, kid.
Most of the time, players are out of line when calling out the big club for not promoting them, but Bo is right on the money here. In his first year at Triple-A, the son of three-time Rockies All-Star Dante Bichette is hitting .301 with five home runs, 27 RBI's, and 14 stolen bases in 44 games. Through his four minor league seasons, Bichette has amassed a .326 average and has made just four errors over that stretch in the field.
Bichette clearly can rake, and despite not having elite power, he can hit for average and is a plus defender in the middle infield. The Blue Jays currently have Eric Sogard at second, who is having a great year batting .304, and Freddy Galvis at shortstop, who is producing well with a .271 average, but there needs to be a way to make room for this up-and-coming phenom sooner rather than later.

With the Blue Jays far out of the playoff picture with a record of 36-60 -- that's 25.5 games back in the AL East for those counting -- they have no good reason not to give the young infielder a chance this season. He is talented both ways and clearly has the drive and passion that will make him successful. He deserves his call-up, and it needs to come this season.
