VIDEO: Bob Nightengale Gets Bodied Live on MLB Network Over Mookie Betts-Dodgers Rumor
By Adam Weinrib

MLB insider Bob Nightengale was probably having a pleasant morning, up until this point. After all, he'd published a moderate scoop, becoming among the first to insinuate that, if unable to pry Francisco Lindor in trade from Cleveland, the Dodgers might turn to Mookie Betts instead. Per Mr. Nightengale, they'd had "preliminary talks" with Boston. Sounds preliminary! When asked what she thought about the far-fetched move, "Billions" actress and MLB Network guest Ellen Adair sent Nightengale into an adjacent universe.

Well, so much for that!
Adair holds a recent grudge against Nightengale, it would seem. As a public Phillies fan, she wasn't too thrilled with the reporter's unfounded scoop that Anthony Rendon would be talking with her squad (it doesn't seem like those talks got too far, if they were ever initiated).
During her brief time at the station, the knowledgeable Adair showed off her selfie game with a Max Scherzer poster, too, someone she certainly would've trolled as well had the opportunity become available.
I am going to be on @MLBNetwork's MLB Now once again, at 2 PM ET! Tune in for talk about recent signings, the Strasburg press conference, and, probably at some point, the #Phillies. (Scherzer will probably not be mentioned, I just had to grab the photo op.) pic.twitter.com/mTPxnaSKqq

Until we receive word otherwise, we'll assume Nightengale is off licking his wounds, powerfully thumbing his phone's keypad in an effort to uncover more and more egregious typos.
