Booger McFarland is Getting Ripped Yet Again for Bizarre Analysis on Rams vs Ravens MNF Broadcast
By Michael Luciano

Booger McFarland is back at it again in the Monday Night Football booth, as his contractually mandated one head-scratching comment per game came as Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams finally started to drive against the Baltimore Ravens defense.
After an illegal shift penalty pushed the Rams five yards further back in the red zone, McFarland said that the penalty could actually be a positive for the Rams, as it's harder to score when you are closer to the end zone and the field shrinks.
Booger just said a false start on 2nd-and-5 actually helped the Rams.

Seriously.
I'll give you all a minute to do the mental calculus needed to understand what Booger is going for.
On the very next play, the Ravens blew up a screen in the backfield and the Rams were pushed seven yards back. At least that gives them even more room to operate, right Booger?
Booger appealing to the timeline on the TE blocking pet peeve and a Wire mention. How does the timeline react?

It's a good thing that he's the analyst for the second most high-profile game in any given week. Good job, ESPN!

Later in the game, McFarland attempted to compare the Rams to Melrose Place in "The Wire", but his anecdote received crickets from the Twitter audience.
The Ravens are The Wire and the Rams are Melrose Place so big thanks to Booger Simmons for that analysis

At least we're seeing week-to-week improvement...right?

McFarland was a solid analyst in the studio, but his performance as a primetime announcer has been mixed to be very generous.
Here we are wishing that Jason Witten was back in the booth. At least he was funny with how bad he was. Booger is just rough.
