The coronavirus pandemic has postponed the start of the MLB season by at least several months, and the Boston Red Sox have reacted quickly to sate fans who are unsure how their tickets for now-cancelled games at Fenway Park will be dealt with in the wake of such unusual circumstances.

The Red Sox announced that fans have one of three options as it pertains to the fate of their tickets. They can either request a full refund, receive a credit for their account that can be used either this year or the next, or exchange them for tickets to a game later in the season if they bought tickets to a home game originally scheduled to take place before May 28.

The Minnesota Twins also announced a similar policy.

MLB teams have incrementally been announcing their own unique ticket exchange plans in the wake of the virus putting the league on hold, with the Red Sox serving as one of the first teams to lay out a road map for helping fans affected by the pandemic.

Hopefully, the pandemic really will begin to subside with the passing of time and the games covered by this policy aren't too numerous, but the Red Sox deserve some credit for giving the fans a variety of options after two months of the season were essentially eliminated.
