Red Sox Potential Utility Man Tzu-Wei Lin Leaves Tuesday's Game With Hamstring Injury
By Michael Luciano
The Boston Red Sox, as evidenced by the Chris Sale debacle, have been pretty snakebitten to start off the 2020 season. Their poor injury luck is set to continue now that Tzu-Wei Lin is down as well.
Lin, who started in center field on Tuesday, left Boston's Spring Training game against the New York Yankees with what is being called a tight hamstring.
Lin has made a handful of appearances for the Red Sox over the last three seasons. The 26-year-old from Taiwan has hit .248 with one home run and nine RBI in 161 major league at-bats.
Lin figured to be a natural replacement for Brock Holt, who signed a deal with the Milwaukee Brewers this offseason, but his injury could put those plans on hold for the time being.
Everyone, from the big names and heavy hitters to the end of the bench guys, seems to be picking up some sort of injury in Boston. Hopefully this is just a minor bit of bad luck in Spring Training that doesn't carry over to the regular season.
