Bradley Beal is First Player Since Kobe Bryant to Score 50 in Consecutive Nights But Wizards Still Lost Both Games
By Karl Rasmussen
Bradley Beal is doing everything possible to will this lowly Wizards team to victories. Unfortunately, despite his best efforts, the team continues to struggle.
Beal has scored 108 points in the past two days, but walked away without a win to show for his efforts. He is the first player in the league to record back-to-back 50+ point games since Kobe Bryant, but even his transcendent scoring efforts haven't proven enough to etch out a W.
On Monday night, Beal went 19-for-33 from the field and hit eight 3s, putting up 55 points in Washington's loss to Milwaukee. Sunday was much of the same, with Beal dropping 53 on 15-of-27 shooting in a 126-117 loss to the Bulls.
The All-Star snub has been playing at another level of late, and is now averaging 29.6 points per game, good for fourth in the league. Try as he might to lead this team to the postseason, he can't do everything alone, and the Wiz sit at 20-36, 4.5 games behind the Magic for the final playoff spot in the East.
Beal looks to be running out of patience in the nation's capital, and it's hard to blame him. He achieved something which hasn't been done since 2007 and by one of the greatest players in league history, yet his supporting cast let him down once again.
