Carson Wentz has come under a rash of criticism this year for his inconsistency. After all, the Philadelphia Eagles' signal-caller was wildly erratic through the first three months of the 2019 season. However, Wentz has turned that narrative entirely on its head in the month of December. He's stepped up when his team needed him most, and that resurgence has Philly in pole position to hoist the NFC East crown following Sunday's win over the Dallas Cowboys.

If it wasn't before, it's certainly clear now that the North Dakota State product has the backing of the Eagles locker room, as offensive lineman Brandon Brooks made sure to berate critics and pundits who dismissed him out of hand.

Of course, Brooks' rage comes in the wake of an anonymous Eagles player calling out Wentz earlier in the season for holding the offense back. Brooks' comments make it apparent that more than just a few on Philly's roster really do have Wentz's back.

Frankly, Wentz's mindset while having next to nothing to work with on offense should have Philadelphia ready to run through a brick wall heading into Week 17 and beyond.

Soak it in, Eagles fans, because a win over the New York Giants in this weekend's regular season finale will see your squad punch a ticket to the postseason.
