Brandon Nimmo's Wife Caught Liking String of Controversial Tweets Amid George Floyd Protests
By Michael Luciano

The sports world hasn't been shy about voicing their opinions in the wake of George Floyd's tragic death, and most of them have been incredibly supportive of the peaceful protests that have been cropping up over the last week. There have been some that have gone against the grain, however, including the wife of New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo.
Nimmo's wife Chelsea was caught liking a string of tweets that tried to disparage the protesters that have taken to the street in the last week. Most of the tweets in question come from Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, a controversial right-wing provocateur.
Are you really more focused on believing white privilege is a lie than learning about the systemic racism that POC face every day at the hands of officers sworn to protect them? I honestly respected you a hell of a lot before I found out how you truly feel. @chelseajnimmo pic.twitter.com/Kh5r16arQo

In addition to liking quotes that shame the protesters and call the causes they are fighting against, like white privilege, "racist lies", Nimmo also liked a tweet about Hillary Clinton for good measure. Because of course there was a Hillary Clinton tweet.
We'll give this around 12 hours before the likes are scrubbed and an apology is issued or she doubles down, both of which are equally possible.
damn thats embarassing

Naturally, her account is now locked for posterity.
.@chelseajnimmo's account is locked, but thanks for liking all the Charlie Kirk tweets about how white privilege is a racist lie! pic.twitter.com/rEtgcYSD6h

Nimmo is certainly entitled to her political opinion, but liking THESE divisive tweets at a time where the country is trying to find anything that can be used to unify is extremely poor timing, and well beyond politics. It's a lack of empathy.
