Braves and A's Legend Tim Hudson Joins Auburn Baseball Coaching Staff
By Scott Rogust

It's been nearly five years since former Atlanta Braves and Oakland Athletics pitcher Tim Hudson announced his retirement. In 2020, he will return to the diamond, but in a much different capacity.
Hudson is joining the Auburn Tigers coaching staff as a pitching/volunteer assistant coach.

And he'll do so at Auburn, where he once forged a legendary college career. https://t.co/WdgJDKKG6J
The move comes one year after Hudson returned to Auburn to finish his degree.
Before making his MLB debut with the Athletics, Hudson was a dominant pitcher at the collegiate level, and his senior season in 1997 was truly something else. Hudson posted a 15-2 record, along with a 2.97 ERA and 165 strikeouts in 118.1 innings pitched.
He also batted a ridiculous .396 with 18 home runs that year, helping the Tigers notch a trip to the College World Series.

His success at Auburn translated well in the majors. Through 17 seasons with the Athletics, Braves, and San Francisco Giants, Hudson accumulated a 222-133 record and a 3.49 ERA. Additionally, he was named to the All-Star Game four times and was a member of San Francisco's 2014 World Series-winning team.
Just like Troy Tulowitzki, Hudson is trying his hand at coaching. Who knows, maybe this will result in Hudson getting a big league gig down the line.
