Braves and Shane Greene Likely Headed to Arbitration
By Brendan Balsamo

It's arbitration day for the MLB, which means it's time for teams and players to engage in a back and forth debate until they can agree upon a reasonable salary.
The Atlanta Braves and Shane Greene failed to reach an agreement before the deadline, and thus will be heading to arbitration.
Per a source, the Braves did not reach an agreement with Shane Greene. Looks like his salary will be determined during an arbitration hearing.

Greene was having a stellar season in 2019 up until the trade deadline. After making the All-Star Game as a Detroit Tiger, boasting a 1.18 ERA and a sub-1.00 WHIP, Greene made the move to Atlanta. Things didn't go as well for him as a Brave. He logged a 4.01 ERA in 27 appearances and lost the closer role almost immediately.
With Mike Foltynewicz and Dansby Swanson agreeing to deals, here are the remaining #Braves arbitration projections:

Greene is currently projected to be awarded a salary worth $6.5 million for the 2020 season, per reports.
Should the 31-year-old and the Braves come to an agreement, Greene will return to a bullpen featuring the likes of Will Smith, Chris Martin, and Luke Jackson.

The talented rosters of the Braves, Phillies, Nationals, and Mets should make the NL East fun to watch in 2020, and Alex Anthopolous and Co. keeping Greene in Atlanta will help the team it its quest to repeat as division champs.
