Braves Announce Streaming Schedule of Classic Games for April
By Brendan Balsamo
With baseball on pause due to the coronavirus, fans don't know where to turn for the competition they so desire. MLB the Show 20 only has so many game modes, after all.
With that in mind, the Atlanta Braves have stepped in to try and save their fans from going insane.
On Saturday, they unveiled their slate of classic games that they are going to stream on their YouTube and Facebook channels throughout the month of April.
The games the team is airing include the game Jason Heyward hit his first career home run in his first at bat in 2010, the game Hank Aaron hit a home run to break Babe Ruth's home run record in 1974, and Chipper Jones' final season opener in 2012. The first game will air on the April 5, and the rest will come on the 8th, 10th, 14th (first game at "SunTrust"), 17th (Smoltz's final Braves win, 2008), and 26th (Acuña's first blast).
This is exactly what baseball fans need: a month full of baseball games to watch. It's evident that the game isn't coming back anytime soon, so it was a smart move by the Braves to start this initiative.
Of course, nothing except live baseball will be able to fill the horsehide-sized hole in fans' hearts, but this will most certainly do.
