Braves' Ender Inciarte Likely Done for Season With New Injury
By Michael Luciano
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ender Inciarte dealt with eternal struggles to stay healthy in 2019, and -- let's face it -- has often been a below-average offensive threat when he is healthy.
Inciarte's helter-skelter 2019 has officially come to a close, as a right quad strain will likely keep him out for the entirety of the Braves' playoff run.
In his fourth year as a Brave since coming over in the Shelby Miller deal, Inciarte hit .246 with five home runs, 24 RBI, and just seven stolen bases. While his offense is nothing to write home out (his OPS+ this year was 89), Inciarte had a vital role on this club by way of his speed, defense, and veteran presence.
Given the way this roster is constructed and the Braves officially opening a window for contention, it's not unreasonable to assume we've seen the last of Inciarte in a Braves uniform.
The Braves will have to take on the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLDS without their speedy table-setter at the top or bottom of the order.
We think they'll make do, though.
