Braves Will 'Likely' Get Last Call on Josh Donaldson Before Potential Free Agent Deal With Nationals
By Chris Pyo

Josh Donaldson is wanted by many teams, but none of them evidently court him as much as the Washington Nationals, as they've reportedly offered him a pretty solid contract close to $100 million.
However, Donaldson is a man who remains loyal to his former team, and he's planning on giving the Atlanta Braves the opportunity to be the final team that makes a pitch to him before he potentially signs with the Nationals.
Nats are in heavy on Donaldson. Braves likely get last call but Washington is aggressive. Nats were still in on Rendon after Strasburg, so they would seem to have the $. JD in great position but question is: Will he hit $100M? Rangers, Dodgers, Phillies, Twins also linked to JD

It's quite understandable as to why the Nationals are all-in on signing Donaldson. They're aiming to defend their World Series title to the best of their ability, and they just lost perhaps the best third baseman in the league to free agency.
Donaldson is no Anthony Rendon, but at the very least he'll bring a solid amount of pop and clutch hitting to the nation's capital and provide some veteran leadership in the clubhouse. There's a reason he's considered to be the best bat left on the free agent market.

Donaldson had originally been expected to return to the Braves, which means that the Nationals really must've made him an offer he can't refuse. Either way, he'll be doing his due diligence and hearing out every possible offer before deciding where he wants to spend the next few years of his career.
