Marcell Ozuna's Wife Charged With Domestic Battery After Wild Incident With Braves Slugger
By Michael Luciano
Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna picked up a nasty face injury a few weeks ago. While unfortunate, it doesn't sound too unusual. Unfortunately, the latest buzz makes it sound like Ozuna was the victim of a domestic battery.
The slugger suffered a major injury after he was allegedly hit in the face with a soap dish by his wife, Genesis. After a two-week police investigation into the matter, Genesis was arrested and charged with domestic battery.
Ozuna, who joined the Braves after spending the last two seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals, hit .241 with 29 home runs and 89 RBIs in 2019, and is expected to give the Braves some thunder in the middle of the order after Josh Donaldson left.
The nature of Ozuna's injury is unclear, which could be a bit concerning for those hoping he's healthy and ready to go when the season starts back up again.
There's certainly much more to the story than the tiny glimpses we've been given so far, but this is a bad look for the Ozuna family. Hopefully Marcell recovers from his injury and doesn't miss any games when the 2020 season starts back up.
