Braves Provide Update on Ronald Acuña's Injury and Rule Him Out for Regular Season
By Scott Rogust

The Atlanta Braves' fanbase was startled to see star outfielder Ronald Acuña leave Tuesday night's game against the Kansas City Royals due to right hip tightness.
On Wednesday, however, Paul Byrd of FOX Sports revealed Acuña has now been diagnosed with a left groin sprain, which will officially keep him out of action for the remainder of the regular season.
But fear not Braves fans, as Acuña should be ready to go for the start of the NLDS.

This appears to be the Braves taking a precautionary approach with Acuña, which will unfortunately prevent him from joining the 40-40 club.
Acuña has had an MVP-caliber season, just a year removed from his Rookie of the Year campaign.

Through 156 games, Acuña has a .280 batting average, .365 on-base percentage, and .518 slugging percentage, along with 41 home runs, 101 RBI, 127 runs scored, and 37 stolen bases.
With the Los Angeles Dodgers on pace to clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, it's a wise move for the Braves to hold out Acuña, and get him right for their NLDS matchup.
