When the month of September came and rosters expanded, the Atlanta Braves added several players to their active roster to bolster their depth down the stretch.

That continued on Tuesday, as the Braves recalled left-handed pitcher A.J. Minter and right-handed pitcher Bryse Wilson from Triple-A Gwinnett. Now their active roster stands at 31 players.

Atlanta has to be hoping Minter can pitch and have the type of success in the bullpen they were hoping for when the season started. However, in 34 games for the big league club this year, Minter owns a 7.24 ERA and 1.98 WHIP. Walks have been a huge problem, which he needs to fix if he wants any chance of making the postseason roster.

As far as Wilson goes, the Braves have used him as a spot starter this year; the veteran has appeared in five big league games (four starts) and posted a 1-1 record with a 6.75 ERA. Just like Minter, walks have been a huge problem for Wilson, and remain something he needs to correct if he wants to be part of their long term plans.

It wouldn't be shocking to see Wilson get a start or two to give Mike Soroka and Max Fried a breather down the stretch.

This is likely not the last time the Braves add to this roster, especially when Nick Markakis, Austin Riley and Ender Inciarte come off the injured list.
