Braves Reportedly Sign Veteran Third Baseman Yangervis Solarte
By Jerry Trotta

The Atlanta Braves were dealt bad news on Tuesday evening when it was confirmed that free agent slugger Josh Donaldson agreed to terms on a contract with the Minnesota Twins.
It was a fairly stunning turn of events and it has now forced the Braves hand in poaching talent from the shallow third base market.
Well, Atlanta has reportedly signed veteran infielder Yangervis Solarte to a minor league contract. Those terms include a $1 million signing bonus if he were to make the major league squad.

Solarte was a viable utility man for the Padres from 2014-2017, but he has since seen his MLB career evaporate.
He was traded to the Blue Jays ahead of the 2018 campaign, became a free agent, and ultimately landed on his feat with the Giants last season.
However, San Francisco released him after 78 disastrous plate appearances, where he slashed .205/.247/.315. Solarte subsequently signed a minor league deal with Miami, but that lasted less than a month before he was released and bolted for Japan.

The Venezuela native spent time with the Hanshin Tigers, before, you guessed it, he was discharged.
This is clearly a dart throw move by Atlanta, and we presume that more transactions loom in their future.
