Braves Send Brian McCann to 10-Day DL With Knee Injury

The Atlanta Braves continue to sit pretty atop the NL East, but their second half hasn't been without its injury woes.
As they make do without regular starters Nick Markakis, Dansby Swanson and Ender Inciarte, another everyday contributor is about to head to the shelf: Brian McCann, who succumbed to a knee sprain this week, is bound for the 10-day injured list.
The #Braves today recalled C Alex Jackson from Triple-A Gwinnett and placed C Brian McCann on the 10-day injured list with a left knee sprain.

The veteran catcher was removed from Tuesday's game against the Marlins on a precautionary basis after his left knee grew sore. The expectation is that he doesn't miss more than two weeks.

Not too shabby..
In the meantime, catcher Alex Jackson is headed back to the Show. In 10 at-bats in 2019, the 23-year-old has yet to record a hit. He'll be the insurance behind Tyler Flowers at the backstop.
