Braves Send Max Fried to 10-Day IL and Recall Bryse Wilson
By Parker White

It wasn't a surprise that right-hander Bryse Wilson was getting called back up to make Tuesday's start against the Milwaukee Brewers, but it was curious to see what the corresponding move would be.
Unfortunately, the Atlanta Braves followed up the first news by announcing that left-handed starter Max Fried will head to the 10-day injured list with a blister to make room for Wilson.
The #Braves today recalled RHP Bryse Wilson from Triple-A Gwinnett and he will start tonight’s game at Milwaukee. The club placed LHP Max Fried on the 10-day injured list with a blister on his left index finger.

Fried started Monday night and was cruising after five shutout innings, but he was removed after only 78 pitches because of a blister on his pitching hand. The Braves were waiting until Tuesday to decide whether the blister was enough of a problem that he'd miss his next start. I'd say we have our answer, as he'll miss a couple of starts.

Wilson was sent down to Triple-A to make a start over the All-Star break. His last big league start came against the Philadelphia Phillies on July 3 where he went six innings and allowed just two runs on five hits with five strikeouts.
This is another example of why the Braves should be looking for another starter to add to this rotation.
