Brewers Christian Yelich Deal Should Eliminate Fans' Concerns About Lackluster Offseason
By Jack Murphy

After what seemed to be a quiet offseason for the Milwaukee Brewers, the team came into agreement with 2018 National League MVP Christian Yelich on a long-term deal.
The Brew Crew inked up Yelich to a 7-year extension worth approximately $190 million, as per Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic, and have wiped away any doubts this team had about their offseason moves.
Source confirms @JoelSherman1 report on terms of Yelich extension: Seven years in $190M range on top of remaining two years at $26.5M. Club option for 2022 will be eliminated. Deal also will include deferrals.

With the extension of Yelich, the Brewers made one thing clear -- they are building their team around him. Even though they let Mike Moustakas walk in free agency, they acquired Justin Smoak at a much cheaper price. So while the Brewers are not the flashiest MLB team at the moment, securing their All-Star will go a long way in the future success of this ball club.
The deal is expected to include deferrals. Said one source: “He wanted to be in Milwaukee.” https://t.co/2FOLeLg8Gq

Brewers fans have criticized their team for not doing much to capitalize on the losses of Moustakas as well as their All-Star catcher in Yasmani Grandal. It is now clear that these decisions were made so they can keep their main guy in Yeli and build for the future, brick by brick.
