Brewers Placing Zach Davies on Injured List and They're Officially Done
By Parker White
The Milwaukee Brewers already ranked towards the bottom of the league in starting pitching ERA (4.78) coming into this week, but the news of right-hander Zach Davies landing on the injured list isn't encouraging.
According to Robert Murray of The Athletic, Davies has been placed on the 10-day injured list and Milwaukee has called up recently acquired right-hander Jacob Faria.
Davies is dealing with an ailing back, so who knows how long the Brewers will be without him.
Milwaukee was already hurting in the rotation department coming into the season, and things got even worse when All-Star Brandon Woodruff went down. They should've keyed it on adding a starter at the deadline, but they failed in adding a big time arm.
The Brewers have been a middling team for most of the season and they are currently on a four-game losing streak, just one game above .500 and four games back in the NL Central.
It's not looking good for a team that went to the NLCS last year, and the news of Davies, who owns a respectful 3.74 ERA over 23 starts, will make it difficult to get back there again in 2019.
