It appears an ever-growing list of teams are interested in Arizona Diamondbacks lefty Robbie Ray as the trade deadline approaches.

Now we can add the Milwaukee Brewers that list, as they have joined the fray as the Diamondbacks virtually lock in their role as deadline sellers.

The Houston Astros, Philadelphia Phillies, and New York Yankees are three of the other teams who are interested in Ray as well, and with the 26th-ranked farm system, according to Bleacher Report, the Brewers may not be able to offer up the prospects needed to compete with any of the other offers.

Ray is 7-6 with a 3.81 in 20 starts this season, and although his numbers won't blow you away, he brings a veteran and reliable presence to a rotation. Ray has started at least 23 games in every season since 2015, showing an ability to stay healthy, something that a lot of teams are usually concerned about. He also strikes out a remarkable number of hitters (145 in 111 innings pitched this year).

Ray is currently making $6 million this season and is under team control next year, as he is still only eligible for arbitration, making him more enticing to teams who do not want to deal for a rental. If the Diamondbacks sell, Ray will most certainly be dealt, and the Brewers will be chomping at the bit to acquire him.
