Brewers Twitter Has Perfect Response to Christian Yelich Being Robbed of NL MVP
By Scott Rogust

The 2019 BBWAA awards have been marred by controversy yet again, so it's only fitting that the final night featured that very same narrative. The National League MVP award went to Cody Bellinger of the Los Angeles Dodgers in surprisingly decisive fashion over last year's winner, Christian Yelich.
While Yelich's repeat campaign was ruined due to a fractured kneecap, he still put up incredible numbers through 130 games.
That's the point the Milwaukee Brewers' official Twitter account brought up, saying Yelich actually improved on his statistical numbers from his MVP-winning year (on top of leading the NL in most of those categories).

Milwaukee's social media team definitely has a valid argument.
In 2018, Yelich posted a .326 batting average, .402 on-base percentage, and .598 slugging percentage. This season, Yelich slashed .329/.429/.671. Those are significantly better numbers.
#Brewers Christian Yelich was not surprised he finished second in MVP voting. Didn't expect to win after missing final 18 games of season: "I pretty much figured once I got hurt, that was a wrap on that. As soon as I got hurt, I figured all the MVP stuff was out the window."

After Bellinger won, Yelich had an admirable response, but let's point to the fact that Mike Trout, who won AL MVP, missed nearly the same amount of time as Yelich with an injury.
We're not taking anything away form Bellinger, but the Dodgers slugger came short of Yelich on a number of categories, so this is tough not to question.
