Brewers Lineup
Leading off for Milwaukee is Lorenzo Cain, followed by signature offseason acquisition Yasmani Grandal. MVP candidate Christian Yelich hits third. Over his past three games, Yelich is 7-for-10 at the plate, including a five-hit game against the Nationals, during which he drove in four runs with two homers. Keston Hiura hits cleanup, though he's just 2-for-12 over the last three games.
Veteran Gio Gonzalez is the Brewers' starter for Tuesday night's game. In 11 starts he is 2-1 with a 3.81 ERA in 54.1 innings. The southpaw had his worst start of the year in his last outing, getting shellacked by the Twins for five earned runs in 3.2 innings. Prior to that outing, Gonzalez had held opponents to three or fewer runs in all but one start.
Cardinals Lineup
Dexter Fowler is leading off for the Cardinals, followed by third baseman Tommy Edman and first baseman Paul Goldschmidt. Goldy is 5-for-14 over his past four games, with two home runs and five RBI. Marcell Ozuna hits cleanup, working on a four-game hitting streak. He's 5-for-17 in that span, but has just one walk.
Michael Wacha has shuffled between the rotation and bullpen all season. He is 6-6 with a 5.44 ERA and is tied for 10th in the NL with 21 home runs allowed. Wacha looks to avoid his third straight loss on Tuesday night.
The Brewers have a slight 6-5 edge in the season series so far.
